I dont think docking is the solution and the solution is to integrate it into
the navigator as mentioned in bug 89566.

not sure whether there's space enough for all the Navigation toolbar
buttons in any revamping of the Navigator. These buttons are a very easy
way to... err... navigate ;) the different items in a document.

This activity is very desirable when managing big documents (ie, for
professional or corporate writers).

Of course any alternative providing the same capabilities would be
interesting to check but I can't see where the mockups you provide in
the bug report 89566 can compare to the current Navigation toolbar. Or
did I miss smthg?

Anyway, thanks for your work.

Re: [Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 93872] Make Navigator Navigation Toolbar Dockable

Hi Jean,

As shown in this mockup (
https://bug-attachments.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=113625
), the buttons from the navigation toolbar are now a drop down menu in
the navigator tab.

Regards,
Yousuf 'Jay' Philips

Ah ah! I did miss smthg. Failed to notice that at first. Does the drop
down (which is not displayed in the mockup) include all the current
Navigation toolbar buttons, ie: Reminders, Controls, etc?

Re: [Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 93872] Make Navigator Navigation Toolbar Dockable

Hi Jean,

Yes the drop down would contain all of the toolbar buttons from the
navigation toolbar. :D Having the previous and next buttons in the
navigator and then having to open navigation in order to change what
type the thing the previous and next buttons react to is quite bad UX.

Yousuf 'Jay' Philips
