Reset the profile

Hello! Regarding this bug report:

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59270

What steps should I follow to reset the profile?

I have already done:

rm -r ./.config/libreoffice/4

on Debian Linux.

Any ideas? :)

(Basically, I would like to confirm a bug but I do not know how to reset the profile except that rm command.)

Are there other things I should do to confirm the bug? What are they? :)

Regards,
C. H. D.

You can use this command:
  soffice -env:UserInstallation=file:///tmp/lo-userprof/
It will tell LO to start with /tmp/lo-userprof/ as profile. Since it does not
exist, it will create it with default package settings.

Of course you should change soffice part to path to soffice binary on your system
(especially if you downloaded LO from website, then this binary probably isn't
in your $PATH).

(C. H. D.: sorry for sending this reply off-list, directly to you. This was due
to stupid setting of this mailing list, that any replies are by default sent
to poster, not to mailing list.)

Re: Reset the profile

Hi!

I have done this:

#!/bin/bash
aptitude -y purge libreoffice4.0 > /dev/null
aptitude -y purge libobasis4.0-core01 > /dev/null
aptitude -y purge libobasis4.0-core01 > /dev/null
aptitude -y purge libreoffice-debian-menus > /dev/null
aptitude -y purge libreoffice4.0-stdlibs > /dev/null
aptitude -y purge libreoffice4.0-ure > /dev/null
rm -r ./.config/libreoffice/4/ > /dev/null
dpkg -i ./LibreOffice_4.0.0.2_Linux_x86_deb/\
DEBS/*.deb > /dev/null
dpkg -i ./LibreOffice_4.0.0.2_Linux_x86_deb/\
DEBS/desktop-integration/*.deb > /dev/null
soffice -env:UserInstallation=file:///tmp/lo-userprof/

I still get the same results in the bug report, but some of the other people do not get the same results on their machines.

What else should I do to reset the profile?

Regards,
C. H. D.

Close LO.

mv ~/.config/lodev ~/.config/lodev_old

Note: If you wish to revert to the old profile to test further, then
just reverse.

Restart LO: LOdev will create a new profile. If you cannot replicate
your problem with the new profile, then the issue is with the profile.
If you can, the it's likely to be a valid LO issue.

C. H. D., I've replicated and added my comments to your bug report. It
seems that Rainer doesn't like my instructions on how to replicate. Good
luck... I think you'll need it.
